Route 1 – Around Kroměříž by Bike

Kroměříž is surrounded by interesting natural areas ideal for leisure time. The first stop on this route is Biocentrum Hráza, locally known as Bagrák. Here you’ll find a large body of water, a children’s playground, a small pumptrack, and an educational trail that circles the site. Following the cycle path, you can continue to the Kotojedy district. Between the villages of Kotojedy and Vážany, the route leads along a new cycle path. In Vážany, you can take a break either at the children’s playground or at the Vážany agility park, which also offers tourist shelters. The route then continues along field paths back to the edge of town, to the last outcrop of the Chřiby hills, called Barbořina. Here you’ll find a scenic viewpoint, public fire pit, educational trail, play elements for children, and a newly built artisan photo point. This spot offers one of the most beautiful panoramic views of Kroměříž and a large part of Moravia. From Barbořina, the route descends to another area called Šlajza, featuring charming gazebos, a running circuit, and an outdoor workout station. Šlajza is the final stop on this route, followed only by a bridge crossing along the motorway and the return to the town centre.
