ARCHBISHOP’S CHÂTEAU WINE
The company Arcibiskupské zámecké víno Kroměříž cultivates vineyards in the Slovácko wine subregion on its own plots in Hluk (Husí hora vineyard) and, since 2019, also manages a newly planted vineyard in Velehrad (Chmelnice vineyard). All grapes are processed at the facility in Hluk. Depending on the grape variety, vintage, and health of the grapes, the mash is allowed to macerate to release more aromatic compounds. White country wines mature for at least 5 months, while sacramental white wines are aged for 10 months. Red wines are matured for a minimum of 2 years.
From April to September, the company offers guided tours and tastings. In addition to standard tastings, which are usually part of regular tours and include 4 selected samples of sacramental wine, the company also offers customised tastings tailored to your preferences and palate.
Over a glass of wine, you’ll also remember why Kroměříž bears pruning knives in its coat of arms.
