Kroměříž’s Octárna has received a prestigious gastronomic award

The city of Kroměříž can now boast a new culinary achievement. The restaurant of the Octárna Hotel has been featured in the latest edition of the prestigious Gault&Millau gastronomic guide for 2025. It is the only establishment from the entire region to make the list, affirming the high standards and dedicated work of the restaurant’s team.

Gault&Millau is one of the most respected culinary guides in Europe. Originating in France, it operates on an independent review system – inspectors visit restaurants anonymously, pay for their meals, and assess not only the quality of ingredients and flavour combinations, but also the standard of service, atmosphere, and the overall dining experience. The result is a carefully curated selection of restaurants worth visiting that year.

Octárna’s inclusion in this prestigious guide is no coincidence. The restaurant offers modern cuisine based on high-quality seasonal ingredients, with precise presentation and a keen sense for detail. Guests value not only the food but also the pleasant atmosphere of the historic setting – the former 17th-century Franciscan monastery.

This recognition confirms that top-level gastronomy can be experienced even in Kroměříž. The Octárna restaurant now joins the city’s UNESCO-listed landmarks – the Archbishop’s Palace, the Flower Garden, and the Chateau Garden – as another compelling reason to visit Kroměříž, whether as a gourmet destination or the perfect spot for a relaxing dinner after a day of sightseeing.
