KROMĚŘÍŽ REGION MUSEUM

Kroměříž region Museum or Kroměříž Museum is located on the town’s main square Velké náměstí. The building was originally one of the most prestigious buildings in town after the Chateau. The Kroměříž Museum also manages other facilities, such as the Rymice Museum, and the windmill in Velké Těšany. In the main building of the museum on Velké náměstí, several permanent exhibitions can be seen all year round, such as: “Old Attic Treasures”, “History hidden under the town pavement”, “Max Švabinský Memorial”, “Kroměříž between 1848-1948”, “The Guardians of Time”. The museum also offers several temporary exhibitions, it organizes workshops, events for kids, discussions, public lectures, and conferences (for ex. “Jews and Moravia”). It cares for extensive collections in the fields of archaeology, history, ethnography, history of art and natural sciences.
