Treasures of the Old Attic Await Discovery
Full of secrets, stories, imagination, curious doors, and hidden corners – that’s the Treasures of the Old Attic exhibition, located in the authentically restored spaces of the Kroměříž Museum. Set off on a journey from the real world into the realms of literary and film heroes. Clues will help you guess whose world you’ve just entered. A propeller, a fox, a rose? Welcome to The Little Prince! Mr. Beaver, a wardrobe passage, the wise Aslan? You’re in The Chronicles of Narnia! Round glasses, a flying car, a cupboard under the stairs? Surely you’ve already guessed!
In addition to many more stories, the exhibition holds—true to its name—a number of hidden treasures waiting to be found. They’re tucked away in both expected and surprising places. And beware – it’s not always gold and jewels. In certain situations, even a simple bar of soap or a bit of coffee can become precious. A clever map you receive at the entrance will help you on your quest. Children who find all the hidden treasures will be rewarded with a small sweet treat at the reception.
Throughout the attic’s maze-like space, real former residents of the attic are also hiding. If you look closely, you might spot a marten, rats, mice, a jackdaw, or a little owl.
The exhibition entertains the whole family – everyone will find something to enjoy. It’s full of fascinating objects, many of which were donated by residents of Kroměříž and the surrounding area after a public call from the museum. You’ll also see dozens of historical exhibits from the collections of visual arts and crafts, zoology, entomology, ethnography, mineralogy, and archaeology.
