Summer without swimming? Unthinkable – and Kroměříž has plenty to offer.
Right in town, you’ll find Bajda Outdoor Pool, the only swimming pool in the country with a view of a UNESCO World Heritage Site – the Archbishop’s Palace. The facility features a 50-metre pool with eight lanes, a children’s pool, a wading pool, grassy sunbathing areas, and refreshments. The combination of water and stunning views makes it a place you’ll want to return to again and again.
If you prefer natural swimming, head to Hrubý Pond, locally known as Bagrák. Just a short distance from the town centre, it offers a refreshing dip and opportunities for fishing. Nearby, you can also explore the Hráza nature trail and a popular cycling route that follows the Morava River.
Nature lovers shouldn’t miss Kurovický Quarry, a nature reserve with crystal-clear emerald water, surrounded by cliffs and greenery. It’s a peaceful spot, perfect for unwinding away from the hustle and bustle.
There are also plenty of swimming options in the surrounding area, including pools in Hulín, Holešov, Chropyně, Bystřice pod Hostýnem, and Roštín, many of which feature water attractions, sports areas, and playgrounds.
And what if the weather isn’t ideal? No worries – Kroměříž has several indoor options too. The Wellness Hotel U Zlatého Kohouta, located on the main square, offers a relaxing space with hydrotherapy baths. Hotel Harmonyfeatures a relaxation pool with massage jets, ideal for moments of peace and recovery. And if you’re after a more unusual experience, try the beer spa at Hotel Černý Orel – a soak in a hops-infused bath with tasting beer at hand is a treat you won’t soon forget.
