Castle Garden
Escape the hustle and bustle of the town and lose yourself in the sweeping beauty of the Castle Garden (Podzámecká zahrada). Seamlessly connecting the Archbishop’s Castle to the surrounding landscape, this romantic oasis is the perfect place for a peaceful stroll, a family afternoon, or a quiet moment of reflection.
Best of all? The garden is open year-round and admission is completely free.
A Living History
Founded in 1509, the garden has continuously evolved over the centuries, growing to an impressive 53 hectares. What began as a humble fruit and vegetable plot was transformed into a highly structured Baroque garden in the 17th century. By the 19th century, it was reimagined once again into the stylish, romantic English landscape park you see today.
Botany enthusiasts and nature lovers will marvel at the garden’s incredible biodiversity, which features over 200 species of rare and exotic trees brought in from across Europe, the Americas, and Asia.
