Transport
Kroměříž is a town in Zlín Region, but historically it is in the region of Haná. It lies on the Morava River in the southern part of the Upper Morava Valley, on the motorway D1 (in the section between km 258 and km 260).
Kroměříž by car / by bus
The town is easily accessible from three sides thanks to the motorway connection (crossing of D1 motorway and R55 expressway) – from Brno (Prague), from Přerov (Ostrava), and from the regional capital Zlín. The town bypass is a toll-free section of the D1 motorway, the exits to Kroměříž are Exit 258 (Kroměříž-západ) and Exit 260 (Kroměříž-východ).
Kroměříž by train
Although Kroměříž does not lie directly on the main railway line Přerov – Břeclav, it is possible to get here by train. In the direction from Přerov and Otrokovice with a transfer in nearby Hulín, and in the direction from Brno with a transfer in Kojetín.
Kroměříž by plane
The nearest airport with regular scheduled flights is in Brno (approx. 50 km by motorway D1), then in Ostrava‑Mošnov (approx. 90 km by motorway D1). In Kroměříž you will also find a small local airport with a grass surface, which is used by the aero club for sightseeing flights for the public.
