THE COLOR RUN

The Color Run is a five-kilometre, untimed sports event where the goal is not to win, nor to break any records. The mission is to bring people together and make the world a happier, healthier place. Anyone can be a participant, regardless of age or current physical fitness. The Color Run caters to everyone. The main goal is to have fun and finish the race plastered in colours. The Color Run has become a popular event , with a high number of runners at the starting line who come to Kroměříž from all over the country. It is usually held on the first Saturday in July.

The two-and-a-half-kilometre running route, which leads through the streets of the town centre, should be completed twice to reach a total length of five kilometres. Participants wear white at the starting line and at each kilometre mark they are doused from head to toe in coloured powder. Throughout the race, various obstacles await the runners in the form of bubbles or inflated balloons, so even those who don’t participate in the race and just came to cheer will have a whale of time. The Color Run itself is part of an all-day programme, which takes place on the main square Velké náměstí, where the race also starts and ends. The all-day programme offers various workshops, music, dance, and sports performances as well as refreshment booths and stalls.
